A deck built
to hold up.
We answer the phone, show up when we said, and finish what we start. Apparently that's a differentiator now.
The part that matters
is underneath.
A deck is a structure people stand on, ten feet off the ground. The boards are the easy part, the footings, framing, and ledger connection are what keep it from being a headline. We build those right.
Footed and framed to code.
Proper footings below frost, correctly spanned framing, and a flashed ledger bolted (not nailed) to the house. This is the structure that fails on the cheap decks you read about, we don't cut it.
Wood or composite, honestly.
Pressure-treated wood is cheaper up front; composite costs more and shrugs off the maintenance. We'll walk you through the real long-run cost instead of pushing one.
Permitted and inspected.
Decks need permits and inspection in most of the area, and you want them, it means the structure was checked. We pull the permit and handle the inspection.

The questions
everybody actually asks.
-
01
“Composite or pressure-treated wood?”
Wood is cheaper to build but needs regular sealing and eventually rots; composite costs more up front and is nearly maintenance-free. We'll show you the long-run numbers and let you choose with eyes open.
-
02
“Do I need a permit for a deck?”
In most of the Charlotte area, yes, and you want one. A permitted deck is an inspected deck, which matters for safety and at resale. We handle the permit and the inspection.
-
03
“Why do decks fail?”
Almost always the connection to the house, an unflashed or under-fastened ledger, or undersized footings and framing. Those are exactly the parts we build to code, because that's the part that hurts someone.
-
04
“Can you replace just the boards on my existing deck?”
If the underlying structure is sound, yes, re-decking over good framing is a great value. If the framing or footings are failing, we'll show you why a re-board would just be lipstick.

“Who's doing the work?”
Trades we've worked with for years, vetted and supervised by M22.
The people who'll
be in your home.
You're not handing your house to whoever was free that week. You meet the M22 team, and the same vetted faces run your project from the first walkthrough to the last.
